I love cutting up words/phrases and making surrealist stories. I've been doing this with newspapers, books, and magazines since I was a kid. Here is a little book I did last night when I had insomnia. The mount is paper that I handmade from onion skins and filler pulp. I am going to bind this with wire.
The books I sampled from were:
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (my fave book ever)
Animal Farm by George Orwell
An old children's science book

I love the surreal collage!
After dipping my toe in the book art world this summer, I am amazed! What a beautiful series. I'll be interested in seeing how you bind this. Are these favorite phrases or chance? Plus you are making your own paper. I think you are are a creative roll.
thanks for the comments,
the phrases are pretty much by chance, i have a bunch of old books that are falling apart, and i'll just rip out a page and cut whatever catches my eye...
i'm going to punch a few holes on the edge and bind it with wire, like a spiral bind...
i'm thinking of using an acrylic sealer over everything but i'm not sure yet...any ideas anyone?
