I installed the Mail Art exhibition today at the 407 Gallery (University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Campus, Studio Arts Building 407) You can see it there through November 1st.

Thank you to all the Mail artists who sent me something for this show--I really appreciate it! If you sent me something within the last month, you should be getting something in the mail from me soon!

It took me about 4 hours to install it, with the help of my friend Elana (thanks Elana!!)
Will be back with pics of the installation soon.

I will be sending out a list of participants to all of those involved. Included will be addresses, expect for those who have requested not to have their address listed. If you are part of this show and you DO NOT want your address listed, please let me know right away. Also let me know if you have changed your address since our last correspondence!

The show looks great and it has been a lot of fun. I am still open to trading Mail Art with anyone. It will then be on display in my office in The Eclipse Gallery on a rotating basis, or in my home if I really like it! Maybe a future themed show will come into being someday...

This is one that fell behind my desk. I can't read the postmark so I'm not sure how long its been laying there. Sorry! I will get something off to Portugal right away.

And I've gotten a few e-mails asking if there is still time to send me Mail Art for my upcoming exhibition. The answer is yes! I would LOVE a few more 3-D pieces--they would really add to the show. 2-D pieces are fine too. As long as I get your work by October 24th we are good to go. It might take me a little while for me to send you something back since I'm uber busy right now, but once things slow down a little I will make it up to you!

3-D Mail Art from Richard Canard

Of course right after I posted about Richard the other day, I went to my mailbox and encountered this! Isn't it wonderful? Yes it is a wooden spoon, mailed as is without any packaging. The challenge now, for me, is how to display this effectively.
The Mail Art Exhibition will have to be touchy feeley.

It is always a pleasure to get a few things in the mail from Richard Canard. He is so prolific--there will definitely be an entire wall dedicated to Richard during my upcoming Mail Art Exhibition.

He gives me my daily doses of inspiration, humor, or slight confusion.

3-D Mail Art from Jennifer Zoellner

I absolutely adore this little book (aptly named Rag Doll Zine) from Jennifer Zoellner. Posted here are only a few of the delightful pages. It was so nice to get this on a day when I was uber stressed out. Thanks Jennifer!

This will be a great edition to my upcoming Mail Art Exhibition. There is still time to send me something to be included, and a 3-D piece will be featured on its own little pedastal. Not to mention that you will get something 3-D back from me (eventually...) I can't wait!

Thanks Richard! I love getting 3-D pieces in the mail, especially with my upcoming Mail Art exhibition in October. Click on the link for more info, especially if you would like to be involved!

Richard, you are amazingly prolific. I would like to think of you as my personal philosophical guru. I can always depend on you to provide me with an interesting thought for the day as I am walking back from my mailbox.

As you can see, Richard has been busy sending me, and I'm sure many others, tons of Mail Art, and here I am, stressing out to the max with a million other worries right now, and I apologize for not sending out much Mail Art these days, especially to the people I owe. But don't fear, my kids are visiting Grandpa this week so I have tons of time and energy right now. And doing some Mail art will do me some good. So watch your mailboxes people!

Mail Art Exhibition

A little announcement: I have the dates for the Mail Art Exhibition that I will be curating in the 407 Gallery at the UW-Green Bay. It will be held between 10/27 – 11/1 of 2008. Which means that this summer I will be focusing on Mail Art, especially 3-D pieces for the show. So if you want to be in this show, send me some Mail art, and I'll send you something back! And if you are lucky and I really love what you send you will get my hand-bound zine!!!

Also with your entry, let me know if you would be interested in sharing your address with a select group of other artists who want to get into Mail art. Thanks!
