MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU

Blu adds a new dimension to grafitti art. His wall painted animation must have taken an exorbinant amount of time, but it is well worth it. I've been thinking a lot about originality lately, which so many people have lost sight of, and Blu is very inspirational to me in this apsect. Take a look at Blu's well-designed website to peek at drawings and other projects. You can even buy a book or prints at Blu's shop. And of course there is a blog! But most of all I love Blu's sketchbooks. Some artists neglect their sketchbooks--you can't do that! They are an integral part of art. Not that you can't be a great artist without using a sketchbook, but I do think sketchbooks allow you to push your limits and not be afraid to try something new. Sketchbooks, journals, notepads, napkins--they give you a place to play, a place to create ideas and express thoughts. Sketches are the starting points, and from there you can develop your ideas. My high school art teacher always said, the more ideas you can get out, the more ideas will come into your head. I always remember that, and it's always true.

aaaaaaaaaaaah, fabulous, and his sketchbook is just brilliant. Seen the video before and enjoyed seeing it again.

So right about sketchbooks.

I stumbled across Blu's animation a while ago. It's my kid's fave video too. What I love about Blu's work is the absolute dedication to this medium - the time and effort shows such commitment to his vision. And what a draftsperson he is!
